There are so many things one learns in a college. We learn to adjust in different settings and its always a unique experience getting to know new things about people and develop various facets of our personality.

Study of arts deals with humanities as a whole. The best learning field for arts is the world and life itself, though it may seem like simple statement, not many people seem to realize that completely. In the broader sense studying arts is an end in itself and not a means to an end. And some people argue that its a means to an end, the end being getting a good job and earning ones livelihood. But really the job would then involve studying arts too-in the sense of application and constant learning- and if someone sees it as just a job and not an art then its just a mechanical process with no role of arts. So the core is the studying bit and job is only incidental to it from a long-term perspective. Or in other words art is a part of each and every thing we do and cant be treated as a thing segregated from the other aspects of life.

Students studying in the not so good colleges are not considered as good as students from the top colleges. So there is this hierarchy involved which is a false concept especially with regards to study of arts, which deals with the individuality of a person more than anything else does. What makes a good arts student? Greater the ability to uncap the potential and the creativity within, better the student. One may say that a better college is the one that helps students become more creative.

How does a college that starts gain recognition as a good one? Its probably because of great works of its alumni in the initial years and that gives it the tag of an excellent college better than the other colleges. The other colleges are gradually considered inferior in the sense that its a relative thing, which again contradicts any principle of true art.

So over the years students crave to go to the best college, without realizing that the college is nothing without the students and they themselves make the college great and not vice versa. But dont better colleges choose better students? The admissions are done on the basis of marks secured by cramming a few things and an interview at most places. So does that gauge correctly the true worth of a student? I found it really hard to get admission to a school during childhood because I was too shy to speak up, but does that mean that I will be the same after a few years? But arent students from better colleges more successful? Its very important to understand here what success refers to. Is success a high post someone has attained or a bigger salary on the basis of the college they came from? But how is it that some greatest artists have never gone to any college?

If college selection is really not based on the past records then how is it that every year most students recognize the same college as the best one in a particular area? In fact most people blindly ape other people, from the past or present and that is again the death of all art. But people worry about what others would say and dont want to take chance and try to stick to the past. Anyone with such an approach lacking conviction and courage would anyway not make it big in the field of arts, which is all about being able to express and act on our independent views and ideas.

True artists dont need tags or labels. Their work speaks for themselves and no college can make or break them.

There is a need to do away with the hard prejudiced mentality and then only will we live a life fuller in every aspect, pouring our creativity, which is the essence of our being into every endeavor of ours without any insecurity.

Who hasn't dreamed of escaping to a deserted island? A palm tree drenched spit of sand surrounded by gleaming "too blue" to be real water and absolutely no one else around. I'm sure you probably have. But unlike Tom Hanks in Castaway you don't have to get shipwrecked or have your plane crash to find these deserted islands. You just need a few intrepid friends, a great sense of adventure and a bareboat charter.

A bareboat charter is basically the hiring of a boat, in my case a sailboat, where my friends and I would provide the crew and captain. Many island countries of the world have charter companies, which provide sailboats to clients who are certified captains and the rest become the crew. The charter companies stock the galley with a list of provisions of your choosing, including alcohol and you do all of the cooking.

It all started when a sailing friend of mine mentioned she was part a flotilla of 2 sailboats going to the Tongan Islands. I immediately said I wanted to go along. She said all we had to do was to get 6 more people, including one experienced skipper and we could add our boat to the adventure. Well, as luck would have it, a good friend of mine had been a captain for over 20 years, had owned her own sailboats and had her 100-ton license. We were all set, so off we all went to the Tongan Islands.

Tonga is comprised of 170 islands and about 1/3 of them are uninhabited and unless you have a boat or know someone who's got one there's not much chance of getting the experience of being on a real deserted island.

We booked our charter through a company called Moorings, who has bases all around the world where you can rent bareboat sailboats. We picked a 46-foot Beneteau which was quite roomy with 3 berths and 3 heads and a large main galley area. And then with minimal introduction to our new home away from home we packed up our supplies and headed off from the dock to our first uncharted island.

Hiring bareboats has become increasingly common as part time sailors are finding it easier and cheaper to vacation around the world on a rented boat and still get the experience of seeing the place they are visiting from the water. The unhurried pace of our floating hotel and restaurant made it easy to relax, cook, swim, scuba dive and visit with the locals. I found it was a more engaging way to visit a place. We became travelers rather then mere tourists. Wed pull up to their dock or take our dingy to their beach and walk in our bare feet to their huts or cafes nestled in the palm fronds and find places that you cant reach by roads. A girl could get used to this life.

Bareboat chartering offers the ultimate in freedom, independence and a different way of seeing a place. In the Tongan Islands for the most part we enjoyed line of sight cruising with only a few hidden reefs to worry about. Steady breezes, ample sunshine and palm-lined islands with white sand beaches beckoned us wherever we dropped our anchor. I had finally found my deserted islands and also a bareboat yachting paradise.

One morning on our voyage, a silver haired woman with large round sunglasses quietly breast stroked over to the stern of our sailboat where I was sitting writing in the early morning light. As I looked up to see her she called out to me, "Is this the bevy of beauties I've been hearing about?"

We were something of a spectacle and we made a grand entrance into every port we entered, so it seemed our reputation was spreading fast. You see were 3 sailboats of 6 women each all with a woman captain at the helm, and our ages ranged from 31 to 73. We were a sight to behold.

The local Tongans we met were very curious as well & the typical question from them was, "Where are your husbands and children?" They actually laughed along with us when we answered them; " Oh we forgot them at home!"

There is something magical the first time your sails fill with wind and you find yourself gliding through turquoise blue waters. There is nothing more peaceful, relaxing or more empowering than being in charge and at the helm of your very own sailboat.

Is abundance just a disguised word for money? Can money be used for a good cause? Do you wonder why some Master Yoga Teachers, Gurus, and Swamis frown on the idea of Yoga teachers talking up the concept of practicing Yoga for abundance?

The reason is quite simple: Most people think of material wealth first. Why? This is an example of survival instinct, and money is a part of survival; but there are many more types of abundance for Yoga students to learn beside money.

Physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional abundance are worthy of note, but the desire for a better life, by acquiring material wealth, is hard to put out of your mind. Lets look at each aspect of abundance from a Hatha Yoga students point of view.

Physical abundance could be seen as physical prowess. This is why Hatha Yoga has become so popular outside of India. When a new student becomes proficient in Hatha Yoga, he or she feels better almost immediately; sometimes to the point of ego bolstering and this is not a direction for Yoga teaching to take.

The physical senses are our most primal and can be realized without any difficulty. Your friends, family, and coworkers may even notice the changes that are happening to your body due to Hatha Yoga practice.

Mental abundance can easily be seen as intelligence. However, a persons intelligence cannot be demonstrated, unless it is successfully projected and proven through the use of good communication skills. Union by knowledge, which we know as Jnana Yoga, will also require much more work than most people would initially think, and communication is a necessary skill required in order to share knowledge.

Sadly, spiritual abundance is becoming rare in some cultures. The spiritual connection to God cannot be seen, but can be felt. Unfortunately, we try to measure the spiritual world with scientific instruments from our physical world.

How can you measure prayer or the benefits of prayer? How does science explain miracles? Science often remains baffled or claims miracles do not exist. Science is useful, but has created the virtual world for a generation who may end up lost in computer games, obesity, poor health, and unconstructive use of time. However, we know the virtual world exists because we can see it.

Emotional abundance is most often taken for granted. Our family and friends provide security, but we wish for more material wealth. When death or illness knocks at our door, all the money in the world may not be enough.

If you have emotional abundance, you are truly rich. When you have material wealth, emotional abundance may be very hard to find because you do not know who your friends really are. Money attracts people, but those people might not have friendship in mind. Many of the financially wealthy are givers, and there will always be someone who wants to take advantage of it.

Now, you see that abundance is many things, but the most valuable treasures in life can be attained by the financially poor. If, or when, you mention abundance in a Yoga class, start with the most important forms of abundance first. If you find yourself with too much material abundance, give the excess to a worthy cause.

There are many issues to consider when insuring a recreational boat. Many people view boating as a fun sport and dont consider there to be enough risks associated with boating to make insuring the boat very important.

First of all, do you need to be reminded that we live in a litigious world? Even though a friend or guest on board your boat for the day may be very chummy, that would likely change if they or their child were to be injured while on a boating voyage on your boat. Wherever you go, accidents can happen and boating is certainly no exception. And, when faced with enormous medical bills, it is normal for people to seek recovery from others, even though they may not have been at fault. You simply should not have a recreational boat without, at a minimum, a basic liability policy.

Most banks and marine finance companies require that boats covered under their financing are adequately insured. Likewise, you need to have this coverage for the protection of your other assets. If you are found to be at fault for a drowning or loss of a limb, your entire financial future, and that of your family, can be ruined. It is simply not worth the risk.

Insurance on a boat is similar to insurance on an automobile. There is coverage for your boat, coverage for the liability you have for persons in your boat as well as others who light be damaged by your boat or your actions regarding your boat. And, just like your car, the premiums are dependent on the dollar value of the coverage limits that you select.

Consider how you plan to use your boat. Will you be trailering it from lake to lake to enjoy a variety of voyages? If so, you will also need to consider coverage while the boat is in tow. You need to check out this coverage in light of your auto insurance and what is covered by that policy in the event of an auto accident while towing the boat.

If you will be storing the boat in your garage or at your dock, there are other considerations. For example, if you only use the boat during the summer season, many insurers allow you to declare a storage only coverage for that time of the year when the boat is not being used. You would need to notify the insurance company at the start of the season and then again at the end of the season. This will have a direct effect on your premiums and it will ensure that you are not paying premiums for liability coverages while there is virtually no risk involved.

While your boat may very well be covered under your homeowners policy while stored in your garage, you may have to declare it on a supplemental schedule to cover it. If you store your boat in a marina or other commercial boat storage facility, they will normally require you to demonstrate proof of insurance prior to storing your boat. The marinas insurance will cover any negligence or damage to your boat that results from the marinas liability, but it very likely will not cover your boat in the event of a flood, fire, hurricane, tornado or other act of God. You must have insurance coverage for this sort of exposure. There were many thousands of boats damaged or destroyed by hurricanes Katrina and Rita on the Gulf Coat in 2005. A large number of the boatowners were shocked to learn that their boats were not covered by the marinas insurance policy. Those that had their boats in storage without coverage for storage suffered a complete loss!

In 10 years in the marina business, I have unfortunately seen several drownings, swimmers run over by a boaters propeller, broken limbs and backs and 50 or so sunken boats. Most of this was a result of somebodys negligence. Many of these boaters failed to have insurance coverage! Unfortunately, there is no legal requirement to do so. The risks can be huge.

Boat insurance can be obtained from several sources. Many people choose to add their boat onto their homeowners policy and the umbrella insurance provided thereon. That is certainly better than not having insurance. Marine insurance may, in fact, prove to be a better buy. It certainly pays to do your homework. When there are problems, the marine insurers are considerably more conversant in the marine issues than the adjusters of the standard property & casualty commercial insurer.

It is surely advisable to take one of the safe boating courses offered by the U. S. Coast Guard or the U. S. Power Squadron. I would encourage your whole family to take the course and think about the safety issues when around your boat. Also be certain hat you have the proper number and type of Personal Floatation Devices (PFDs) for the crew of your boat as well as the other safety equipment thats appropriate and required by law. Just like in your car, be sure you have a designated driver along if you intend to consume alcohol while on your voyage! The sun and spray tend to exacerbate the absorption of alcohol into your bloodstream and many states now enforce a BUI Boating Under the Influence law.

Do your homework before buying your boat insurance, but be certain that you get it. This is true even for the smallest of boats, especially personal watercraft (PWCs).

Dont fret. There are plenty of ways to keep your resume hopping. Here are just a few ideas to get you thinking.

1. Volunteer.
Not many people are aware of this, but, if you live in the United States, theres a Presidential Volunteer Service Award that you can earn for the time you are spending volunteering in your kids activities. Whether youre helping at school or through Scouts, you can earn this award. Although it isnt business related, it does show an employer that you are motivated and dedicated.

Or you can find leadership positions where you can volunteer. Titles like the President of the PTA, School Fundraising Coordinator, or a Board of Directors for an Organization look great on your resume, plus youre setting a wonderful example for your children.

2. Go Back to School.
If youve wanted to get your degree or an advanced degree like an MBA, you can now do it online. While baby is sleeping, you can study and take your tests. Its not easy, but it also shows that you had incentive during the empty time on your resume.

3. Build a Business
Look into ways you can build your own business. If you do the legwork while baby is young and get the foundation built, then you can either sell the business or choose to jump in with both feet once you face going back on the career path.

4. Be an Activist
Make a name for yourself fighting for a cause you believe in. Before you go on an interview, compile press releases youve written, interviews, and articles along with results and accommodations. When youre asked What have you been doing for the last five years. You can reply, Ive been working to reduce child abuse by helping to pass a bill that. Pretty impressive. And, again, youre setting a remarkable example for your children.

Heres my big warning. All though all of these activities will look great on your resume, they all take time. If your goal is to stay home and enjoy your children, dont get so loaded down with volunteering, studying and helping others that you end up missing out on all the childhood wonders in your own home.

The painting actually has a recent imperfection. In 1956, a man named Ugo Ungaza threw a rock at the painting, which resulted in a small patch of damaged paint next to her left elbow.

The unrivaled fame of this work is partially because it was stolen from the Louvre Museum in Paris in broad daylight by an employee in 1911. It was quickly recovered two years later.

Their MLM program involves selling health based nutritional products and generating down liners. Their marketing plan is straightforward and effort friendly (basically it means that it is quite easy to achieve). Knowing that each potential MLM marketers have different financial means to start, they have introduced 3 different business start-up plans that are convenient for every target groups. No wonder they are making waves at the moment.

What we are all wondering here at Sahabatul Ventures is their actual objective. Teamfifi Dot Com clearly indicated in their website that they intend to produce at least 5 millionaires; however no targeted time frame is mentioned though. Still, we applaud the objective and hope that they would achieve it one day. However, Sahabatul Ventures do have doubts about their long term objective. Looking from what we can gather from their website, it is obvious that they are going all out for memberships, hunting for down lines to fulfil their marketing plans. This would sound nice in the first few years upon joining them of course but what happens then when you all ready have a lot of members? Going for memberships are one thing but promoting their products is another big factor that they have totally overlooked as of time of writing.

Using a celebrity to indirectly capture the publics attention on their MLM program is clever but this might harm them in the long run. Ask anybody who knew about Teamfifi Dot Com and they would automatically associate it with Fifi the celebrity. Thats not good for business. Are they marketing Fifi as a product or have they all forgotten that what is most important about their MLM program is their health based products that they are supposed to be promoting in the first place? Regardless either which way, the sole party what would laugh all the way to the back is Rafa Green Sdn Bhd. Now, let us take a look at one of direct sellings biggest money makers, Avon. Talk about Avon and everybody knew what Avon is all about. Everybody knew what type of products they have. But did anybody know who is behind Avon or their current CEO who runs the show? No! This is because Avon put every single effort to market their products! Not the other way around like what Teamfifi Dot Com is currently doing.

Overall, Sahabatul Ventures would give Teamfifis Internet MLM program 2 out of possible full 5 stars. Their MLM program marketing plans are excellent and anybody from the street can join them and easily market themselves as up liners since they have a very good free advertising all ready made and done for them directly through Fifis fame and status as a household celebrity as they led everyone to believe via their website. However, they lose a lot of points from their lack of effort in promoting their products which is the mainstay for any MLM programs. Their marketing approach suspiciously looks as if they are in to make easy killings by gunning for an all out membership drives. Surely hope that they would not abandon the program and go for other greener pastures after they found out that they could not go any further through down linings.

This morning I received a call from a young lady named Jenny she was the daughter of an old friend Morgan whom I had cut off ties with a few years ago because of her addictions relating to alcohol and prescription drugs. She carried a type of wisdom with her that was always a contradiction to the flip-switch we encountered when she would partake in her drinking and substance abuse. She reminded me of those old black and white comedies where in which a gentleman would dress in perfect uniform on one side allowing viewers to see the very essence of who he was as a proper gentleman while the other half of his appearance mocked its self by transforming him into a woman. Then the actor would begin to turn from side to side in order to properly assign each character the feminine and the masculine allowing them to express and explain their own take on whatever imaginary text or content they were negotiating themselves around.

That was Morgan. She was so profoundly profound on one side of her spirit and yet so frighteningly frightened on the other. I cannot even begin to imagine living within the confines of such a bitter dispute. I see how such an existence could and would drive any human being to the literal brink of insanity. In that place of acceptance I can begin to unveil the fine line between her battle to defeat her demons and the one those very same monsters waged back in their own determination to prevail as well. As unfair and unnecessary as all of the tragedy was it hopefully has instilled in those of us left remaining in this disarranged and obscure moment to recognize the importance each and everyone of us must embrace regarding our own value and worth.

If I had to say anything about her death it would be that at least now for Morgan the battle is over. The war has come to an end and she is no longer suffering. The lesson I will carry away with me from all of this is; Addiction holds its vessels hostage because of the shame and guilt they do not let go of. If an addict could hold his or her head up high and see their true importance they could then never betray them selves again by contaminating their bodies and minds with its influence. Someone plagued by addiction is really only running from themselves and I for one am glad the marathon of madness that Morgan ran for far to long is now over. I would like to imagine that when she crossed the finish line God himself was there arms open wide, smiling and embracing her as she deserved nothing less. Her kind of struggle should teach us all about the frailty of being a human being and about the courage it took for her to be here so long while in the strong-hold of a never ending complexity wrenched in pain and fear.

There are many of us left who have had to remove ourselves -for one reason or another from the demands anothers addictions often placed on us. To the people who are feeling weighed down and burdened by their own decision to walk away I say only this. We were never showing a lack of love in doing so against that person we where showing love for our selves, our children or other loved ones instead. I for one forgive myself for discontinuing contact with Morgan on the physical plane because on the spiritual one I never gave up on her and I continued to pray for her to wish her well to give room to remembering her qualities instead of her deficits.

After all in the end all the love, support and understanding can never save someone from themselves. Today however is a new day and from this moment on we can carry peace and compassion with us or we can welcome the same conflict as an addict and then we all lose. I for one cannot make that choice. Life in the end is really ours to command. Pain can only take over our lives if we so allow it. Morgan and the millions of others who have died because of their addictions are proof of that unfortunate truth. Here I blame the addiction itself it takes away all hope and any sense that the addict could ever take back their own personal power. On December 22, 1997, the FDA finally approved Propecia for treating hair loss in male candidates. This approval made Propecia the first FDA approved treatment for male hair loss that comes in pill form. The basics of Propecia are as follows:

The active ingredient that is causing the hair regrowth in Propecia is finasteride. Finasteride was first approved and used in 1992 as Proscar. Proscar is a treatment used for prostate enlargement. Proscar helps suppress the formation of DHT which is the hormone thought to cause the increase in size. By treating an enlarged prostate with Proscar, the need for surgery was reduced.

There is 1 mg of finasteride in Propecia (for the purpose of hair growth) and 5 mg in Proscar (for treating prostrate enlargement). While treating patients for prostate enlargement, it was noticed that their was some regrowth of hair in areas of male pattern hair loss.

Being a little tongue in cheek. Its no comfort to know that the side effects of one treatment become the basis of treatment in another.

In further studies, 1 mg of finasteride and demonstrated hair growth in male pattern hair loss. The number of hairs (I'm not sure if it was 4 or 6 hairs, just kidding) increased in the anterior midscalp and vertex.

Patient feed back showed that there was in fact more hair regrowth with the finasteride treatment versus the sugar pill. Side effects were infrequent (it was not stated exactly what infrequent meant) and were related to sexual function.

That's fantastic! So infrequently, does that mean that I will attract more of the opposite sex and then not be able to do anything with that? I'm just saying!

Propecia has not and will not be marketed for women because it causes birth defects, and the safety and amounts needed have not been established in women.

But its o.k. apparently for us men because we are disposable and don't give birth. Any time I see a chemical that is not advised for women because it can cause birth defects, I just have to feel that male or not, there is something going on that shouldn't be.

The FDA's Dermatologic and Ophthalmic Drugs Advisory Committee sat down and had a chat about Propecia. The committee offered labeling suggestions in the context of an overall generally favorable discussion. Merck & Co. of West Point, Pa., produces both Proscar and Propecia.

We all know Merck & Co. track record with lawsuits. Vioxx and the osteoporosis drug Fosamax are the first that come to mind. Almost seems to make about as much sense as trusting Exxon to handle your neighborhood environmental project.
