Although the application of CCTV security have not changed very much over the past years, the tools and equipment have significantly. Cameras became smaller, cheaper and better, but the major breakthrough happened in recording equipment.

Therefore many customers shopping for complete CCTV monitoring and recording systems are confused by such a verity of available products. Goal of this article is to guide buyers toward best possible and most economical type of CCTV equipment, based on intended implementation and requirements.

Selecting the right cameras.

It is virtually impossible to describe all types of available security cameras in this short article. We will focus our attention on most popular and widely used camera types instead.

CCTV security cameras produce images using CMOS or CCD (Charge Couple Device) chips. Tiny, very low price CCTV cameras usually use CMOS technology, produce poor quality images and have very poor light sensitivity. Decent quality CCTV cameras use CCD technology. The size of the CCD chip is normally 1/4", 1/3" or 1/2". As a rule of thumb, the larger the size, the higher the quality of the image produced and the higher the price. However, higher density 1/4" and 1/3" CCD chips can now produce as good an image as many 1/3" or 1/2" chips.

The number of TV lines in the security camera image is a measure of picture resolution (sharpness). The larger the number of TV lines, the better the resolution and hence, overall picture quality. Standard resolution camera may have 350-380 lines, over 400 TV Lines is generally considered good resolution while over 500 TV lines is considered high resolution. B/W chip cameras produce greater resolution and better light sensitivity, therefore suitable for use in dark areas where light conditions are poor most of the time.

On the other hand color cameras offer more realistic and natural picture. CCTV cameras are usually divided into different types based on the body of the camera used.

Professional grade cameras.

Have box type body with the ability to use different types and size of lenses. Exchangeable lenses enable this camera, to monitor objects from virtually any distance.

Although for indoor use, they can be used for outdoor when combined with weatherproof housing. They are considered to be the most flexible and widely used by professionals for commercial installations.

Bullet cameras.

Bullet cameras are, as the name suggest contained inside bullet shaped housing.

Most bullet cameras are weatherproof and sealed without the ability to use different lenses. Great advantage of bullet camera is the small size and integrated design, some bullet cameras will even have infrared LED future built-in. Infrared technology is simply LED light in infrared spectrum (not visible to human eye). This light will illuminate viewing area, making possible monitoring in complete darkness. This is great future, but it only works up to certain distance (usually between 10 and 50 ft. depending on model) Vary simple to install and estheticly designed, bullet cameras are great choice for residential and do-it-yourself installations where monitoring objects are within about 25ft from the camera location (with standard 3.6mm lens).

Board Cameras.

Board Cameras are basically fixed lens mounted on a circuit board. These cameras may be packaged in a small case (Mini Cameras) or dome (Mini Dome) or simply sold unpackaged, for mounting by the purchaser. Lenses in these cameras are either of a normal industry aperture or a "pinhole" lens of very small aperture. Pinhole lens cameras are often called "spy" cameras and may be mounted in a concealed way for covert surveillance purposes. The most popular examples of covert board cameras are smoke detector and motion detector cameras.

Since the lenses in board cameras are pre-mounted, have a fixed iris and are usually of a short focal length (i.e. wide angle), their flexibility of usefulness is limited. However, this type of camera can provide a low cost solution in the right situation, particularly in a home environment.

We have shortly described most popular types of cameras, lets now discus, how and where they mite be used.

Professional type cameras with C/CS mount lens attachment generally offer best performance and many important futures, like lens control output, Back Light Compensation and many more

Distance from monitoring object to the camera is not an issue, that is why ability to select different lenses, based on camera location is so important. Installation is bit complicated and professional installation strongly recommended. We recommend this type of security cameras for commercial installations.

Most Bullet cameras in comparison, do not offer high resolution and lens selection flexibility, but are likely to be weatherproof, some will have infrared light built-in and most of all they are relatively easy to implement.

Bullet cameras usually come with 3.6mm lens witch are considered to be suitable for most standard installations (good for covering small to medium size room or equivalent).

For larger roomsor longer distances, cameras with 6mm or higher lens may be required.

They are great choice for any do-it-yourself installation.

Board cameras in contrast are widely used in covert camera installations, sometimes called Spy Cameras. Many wireless cameras are basically board cameras with built-in transmitter.

We are not going to go into wireless cameras right now, as this would be enough material for completely new article.

Board cameras are sold as plain circuit board, for integrating into hidden camera devices. They are also available in dome housing, as vary popular Dome Camera or integrated with Smoke Detector, Motion Detector, Exit Sign and so on.

Most board cameras also come with 3.6mm lens although some will allow lens to be replaced.

Over the time, most practical design has been Dome Camera with its esthetic appearance it blends into surroundings, especially with drop down sealing, great for use in stores, lobbies, gas stations and other public places. Practical solution for covert installation are also, Motion and Smoke Detector cameras, they are absolutely not substitute for your security alarm or fire protection.

Cameras should always be selected based on the location of the camera (inside/outside), distance from the monitoring object, light condition and budget.

When shopping for security cameras, customers are faced with the fact that they will need to select one or another recording device.

The days of well-known CCTV time-lapse VCR recorder are almost over.

Although some customers still prefer this old fashioned recording solution, it is well worth to invest some extra money to purchase a good quality digital video recorder (DVR). Digital recorder transfers analog camera video feed into digital format, and stores it on hard drive. There are two major types of digital recorders on the market right now.

PC Based Systems.

A special board and software installed on the computer will allow camera inputs and store video on the hard drive.

Many people are under the misconception that personal computer with additional hardware installed, will do the job. This explains the hundreds of companies that have hung up a sign, taken out some ads and begun working out of basements and garages, holding themselves out to be DVR manufacturers and security specialists. The main problem with this type of CCTV recorders lies in the main component of it Yes, it is a computer, designed to do unlimited tasks, but non well. The truth is that any computer based digital video recorder is, and will always be vulnerable to software crashes, hang-ups, system instability, virus related problems etc

Stand Alone Systems.

Very similar in appearance and control functions to standard VCR recorders, are truly remarkable devices. Most video processing is done by hardware, therefore eliminating system crashes, video is also stored on hard drive in digital format. The basic operating system, usually Linux, is permanently stored on special processor, witch is impossible to overwrite or corrupt. Designed and manufactured with single application in mind, it is by far better in performance and reliability to its PC based rival.

Some DVR systems will even have remote monitoring capability, useful when monitoring is required in different locations thru Internet or network. Most important futures to look for when selecting the right DVR recorder are motion detection and frame speed. The higher the frame speed the more fluent video recording. Motion detection will allow recording video from each camera only when motion is detected; this is great for extending video recording time.

Security Monitors.

Video from Security recorder could be displayed on regular TV monitor. It is OK to do it this way, for baby monitoring or residential application, when quality of the picture is not that important. However for professional installation, security monitors are as much important as cameras. They offer extended life of picture tube (necessary with any static picture, that can cause picture burnout) and much grater resolution.

Cables and wiring.

Finally any camera installation will require proper wiring. Good quality cable will prevent video degradation over long distance runs. It is recommended to use RG59 or RG6 coaxial cables as it is fully shielded and will prevent video loss up to 400 ft. Coaxial cables will require BNC connectors and proper installation possibly done by experienced technician. In short runs plug and play non-coaxial cables with factory installed BNC connectors may be used (up to 150 ft.). The plug and play cables are easy enough to install by not experienced users.

Cables for CCTV cameras consist of two cables bundled in one jacket. One cable for video and one for power delivery.

Conclusion.

Every CCTV system is as good and reliable as its weakest component. With this in mind, investing on highest quality and performance cameras, while purchasing low performance recorder, from economical and practical standpoint just does not make sense.

For example, why use cameras with 500 TV lines of resolution with monitor that offers only 380 or less. All the benefit of high-resolution camera is affectively sacrificed by limited capability of monitor. Asking questions is important before purchasing video security system, and your vendor will probably be able to give more details and recommend equipment for specific needs and requirements.

So what is up with the preoccupation with size? In men it is penis size, and women breasts. Okay, so Ill admit being a woman who is not overly endowed with voluptuous breasts I have a biased opinion. Having been an athlete most of my life taints my view of this age old dilemma. Seeing my friends boobs beginning to sag and head for their belly buttons also seriously affects my way of thinking.

I have a friend who recently purchased herself "store bought boobs" for her thirtieth birthday. I find the families who still have tighter European ties are less worried in general with the unavoidable aging process. We poor brainwashed women of North America have been trained to put so much emphasis on appearances, be they bosoms, or weight, or hair, find it difficult to be comfortable in our own skins. The social pressures on women is intense. So although their have been times in my life when a low cut, tight fitting shirt with some extra cleavage would have got me extra tips, or a better position, I am quite content and grateful that my boobs are not doing the slide south!

You can find genital wart treatments in the form of medicines both over the counter and by prescription. Most doctors will tell you that over the counter remedies are to be avoided. These medications to treat genital warts often contain chemicals that can be abrasive or damaging to the skin.

The most common prescription medications used to treat genital warts are Podofilox, imiquimod and TCA. Podofilox is available as either a liquid or a gel. This medication works by killing the genital wart tissue. You can use it at home, and it has been effective in about 65% of the cases where it has been used. Doctors often prescribe Podofilox because it's safe and easy to apply. However, in the case of a pregnant woman treating genital warts, Podofilox can be harmful and may be a factor in causing birth defects.

Sometimes doctors prescribe a cream that contains imiquimod. This is another remedy that you can apply yourself at home. Imiquimod medications often cost more than Podofilox, but they are safer. Imiquimod fights genital warts by lending a helping hand to your immune system. It has been proven effective in about half of the cases where it has been used.

TCA, or trichloracetic acid, is a remedy that must be used at the doctor's office. It is a caustic agent, and because it can be harmful to the skin, it cannot be used at home. The doctor puts TCA directly on the warts and it kills them. TCA is considered the most effective of the three treatment methods, but it is inconvenient and requires weekly trips to the doctor until the warts are gone.

There is also a medical procedure that can be used to treat genital warts along with a prescription medicine. This is alpha interferon, an anti-viral that is injected into the wart tissue. It is often not used because it is expensive and is not effective in preventing further wart outbreaks.

When considering treatment, remember that there is no cure. Genital warts are caused by a virus, and getting rid of the warts does not do anything against the virus itself. Even after successful treatment for genital warts, you may experience outbreaks again in the future. Your doctor will recommend what he or she thinks is best, depending on the nature of your genital wart outbreak.

What are points? Why would any home buyer want to pay points? Should I pay points? These are all legitimate questions, and the answers to some of them may be surprising. Believe it or not, for some home buyers paying points makes sense.

What's a Point?
First and foremost, it is important to understand what points are in mortgage terms. A point is equivalent to 1% of your loan. So for a $150,000 loan, a point is $1,500, and two points would be $3,000.

Typically, home buyers are given the opportunity to pay points as part of their closing costs in order to obtain lower interest rates. Paying points for a lower interest is different than paying points as part of your standard mortgage closing costs, so make sure you understand up front if the mortgage lender will require any points be paid and what they are for.

Should I Pay Points?
Home buyers presented with the option to pay points in order to lower their interest rate may at first rebuke the idea. However, it's important to know what you are saying no to. For some home buyers, paying points to lower their interest rate may make sense.

To determine if it makes sense to pay points, you'll have to do a little math. Ask the mortgage lender for amortization schedules for the various interest rates that are available to you based on the points you pay this is critical information.

Next, try to determine realistically how many years you plan to live in the house before you either sell it or refinance it. This may not always be easy to estimate, but it's important to have a general idea of your long-term plan.

Then, calculate the difference in your monthly payments between each of the interest rates being offered. For example, if your monthly payments with the offered interest rate and no points is $1,200, and your monthly payment when paying one point is $1,120, you are saving $80 per month by paying the point.

If you pay two points, perhaps they are offering an interest rate that brings your monthly payment down to $1,035, which means you are saving $165 per month by paying two points.

Once you have this number, you want to multiply the amount you are saving by the number of months you anticipate living in the home. Let's assume you anticipate two years before refinancing or moving. That's 24 months.

By paying one point, you are saving $80 per month for 24 months, or a total of $1,920. By paying two points, you are saving $165 per month for 24 months, or a total of $3,960. Consider the amount of money you are saving versus the amount of money the points will cost and that will determine whether or not it makes economic sense to pay the points.

Remember, the numbers used are purely for illustration purposes. You will need to do the math based on the information you are provided about your loan and the number of months you estimate living in the home before selling or refinancing it.

Do the math for yourself, and you might find there's a good point to paying points!

Its a dream. A dream I personally lived. Become an entrepreneur. Start your own company, be your own boss and pass the company on to the next generation. Unfortunately, the odds are against you. The truth is the majority of family held businesses dont make it past the first generation. I sold my business before my kids had a chance to express their disinterest in it.

Some businesses make it from generation to generation because the founder is intent on creating a family legacy or the next generation is intent on carrying on that legacy. Shareholder agreements are common place in those companies that do make it through generations. Buy sell agreements which dictate who, how, when and to whom stock can be sold become a family protection umbrella that insures that stock remains within the family and the company.

Second or third generation companies that fail to survive are generally run by heirs that just dont have the same passion and same interest in the business as their predecessors. The company is often run into the ground due to lack of skill, interest and commitment.

Another issue that can lead to failure in second and third generation is sibling rivalry. When several heirs all work in the business it is common for conflict and resentment to exist. Sometimes this conflict is so open that employees become very uncomfortable, unproductive and may begin taking sides.

Unless a company has well thought out succession plans, a family doctrine and even a code of conduct, problems are almost guaranteed. That does not mean that it is impossible to succeed in business with siblings sharing executive authority. However, the odds are stacked against it.

Many if not all family members working in the business have feelings of entitlement to some degree. This is generally true of at least one if not all of the siblings. Choosing the next president becomes even more difficult if the children have used their name as a title instead of the actual title of the job function they performed and the position they hold in the company (This is often unintentional and some kids dont even realize it). This difficulty increases exponentially if none of the kids have demonstrated a high level of competence, respect for all employees, leadership skills that pattern the servant style and at least some promise of potential to fill the presidents shoes.

Although the majority of parents would prefer that their children take over the business and carry on the family legacy, this is not always the best option available. I know it is difficult for any parent to admit that their child may not possess the skill sets necessary to take over as President of the company. However, the reality is, that situation actually does exist in many family businesses.

Family owned/privately held organizations in wholesale distribution, both small and large, with succession issues, family preparation and second and third generation leadership issues have been subjected to the evolution of leadership. These organizations are often founded by an aggressive, highly talented entrepreneur. Many of the principles of leadership employed by the founder that helped build the success that the organization enjoyed in the past is not the type of leadership that will maintain that success through generations of ownership. The formation of a board with several outside directors can help ownership cross the transitional divide that often accompanies generational succession.

The board can also play an important role when it comes to dealing with personal family issues between siblings that become an issue at the office. So, even if you dont have family problems in your business, get a board. It might be one of the best decisions you will ever make.

Carp baits vary tremendously in quality around the world and to such an extent that some baits contain ingredients and flavours of types and quantities that can even be repellent to carp after a period of time of introduction into a particular carp water!

So much of the reason for this lies in the nutritional value and health and energy benefits you give to your fish in return for them eating your bait, and this can have massive implications regarding your catch results over time.

The fact that the majority of anglers use popular, shop - bought ready - made boilies, and bait mixes, can actually give you a massive unseen edge!

Shop - bought baits will only provide certain levels and of nutrients, making it easier to catch carp on your own designed bait providing you aim to make a bait with different ingredients, or perhaps of better quality or percentage in your bait to the known shop bought baits being used on your water.

For example, if fishmeal baits are working well on your water, why not make your homemade baits with far higher quantities of quality predigested fish and shellfish proteins? Or really raise the level of protein regarding the soluble attraction activity of your bait add loads more green lip mussel extract, corn steep liquor, predigested liver powder, squid liver extract etc.

To understand bait from a commercial producers perspective; he must make a profit, so if he can, he will use the minimum of expensive but most often most highly concentrated nutritional / effective carp attractional ingredients, and bulk up their commercial shop bait with less effective ingredients over the long term.

This as a major weakness you can exploit over EVERY angler who slavishly uses shop bought baits for fishing and who wrongly expect exceptional results every session due to using these baits.

Not only is the nutrition / attraction factors limiting and very standardized in many ways, but so are the ways they are used by anglers too. Also commercially made baits are produced by machine and most often result in identical shapes and densities. This is not always in your interests if you wish to target those big wary carp that have been absolutely conditioned every day to eating anglers shop baits and managing to not get hooked on them.

Many big fish actually eat your free baits perhaps 4 or 5 days or longer after you have gone home, when they have been leached of anything that may be associated as a threat to the carp. (Perhaps certain flavours or types of attractors within the bait.)

Most anglers have heard of using baits with no flavours in, or using baits that have been pre soaked in lake water to mimic safe free baits, that abound in pressured carp lakes after a busy weekend.

Also, one important point to appreciate is that if a carp senses a bait, but does not need more of it to fulfill its dietary needs, its brain will not register a feeding response!

That is why being aware of all the carps potential dietary deficiencies and providing for them, is so vital because you will achieve takes owing to perhaps merely one ingredient and its benefit, at times when if this ingredient was absent, then the carp will simply ignore your bait!

A carps individual metabolism, programmed caution, mode of picking up hook baits and preferences for specific tastes, smells, eating experiences, and so on, an individual carp may be easier to catch by exploiting this. Finding a bait it likes it can be landed repeatedly over long period of time, e.g. months or even years.

This shows that a winning formula does not need to be changed as often as the bait adverts would suggest! I know extremely successful anglers who have used the same basic base mix formula for decades And NEVER use flavors!

By using your own mix, you know for certain what ingredients and attractors certain fish prefer, gleaned from experience of past catches and why because YOU know the ingredients used in your own baits!

You can catch the same fish on the same basic bait mix in different parts of a large lake, at steadily larger weights, for years, because it wants and needs it, and has accepted it as natural food!!! Carp can learn just like dogs about certain actions and rewards, some beneficial and rewarding, others dangerous and stress inducing.

Wary, big fish have been caught TWICE on the same bait on the same day because they wanted and needed a certain bait so much at that point in time!

The most wary fish can eat your bait in confidence, in preference to shop-bought bait, even selectively ignoring adjacent baits! If a carp does not require the substances in your bait, it will not eat it.

In other words, when foods are available of every kind, to satisfy the carps natural needs, then if he doesnt NEED your bait, most likely he wont even register it as food, unless hes ill, diseased, or mad! Heh Heh And Im sure many of us have direct experience of this extremely frustrating situation!

Commercially designed aquaculture feeds, and koi - enthusiast feeds, are rigorously, scientifically tested for optimal growth and health effects. If you want to see this for yourself there are many papers and articles on this subject; especially from sponsored Japanese research institutions and American universities.

It is complex stuff and it takes hours to extract information that is applicable to carp fishing bait formulation. (My research , I hope, will give you a clearer, in - depth knowledge of a carps essential dietary needs you can apply in your bait design!)

Previously, as baits became more advanced, being based on information gleaned from scientific research, it was made clear that a high protein milk derivative bait would outfit a low protein cereal / bean based bait. Some of these baits had an assumed biological nutritional value of up to 96 % ! These were based mainly on milk protein, milk, fish, shellfish and meat protein.

But science has shown that the majority of this protein is not synthesized to benefit the fish at all and is wasted! In fact, baits with a biological nutritional value (or BNV) of 30 % to 55 % or even lower, are just as effective.

Costs of milk proteins became uneconomical in the 1980's for anglers in the UK, and so anglers experimented much more with cheaper bulk ingredients, and their relative ratios to find success much more economically.

However, so - called high protein BNV baits still out fished the low-protein, carbohydrate - based baits in the long run, far more consistently and effectively when it came to the really big fish. And this again proved the benefits of using a balanced nutrition theory bait, correct.

This theory stands the test of time; still today especially after decades of constant hard pressured carp fishing in the UK, where carp are seriously clued up.

By high protein, I mean high - quality in terms of your baits amino acid profile, and other nutrient ingredients. When compared to a carbohydrate bait with a very low quality of these nutrients available. So when you see high-protein, dont assume that 30 - 45% is low.

Semolina and wheat flour, 50 / 50 % mix, for example, may only contain a maximum of 10 % protein, if anywhere near that; it feels to us like the difference between eating pasta compared to stake. Its like eating sugar; loads of quick energy benefit, but no essential nutritional essentials are being supplied for essential bodily rebuilding and survival.

You dont hear about body builders thriving on a high sugar diet (this can lead to diabetes among other poor diet effects), but on a high protein, balanced nutritional profile diet where every dietary essential need is met.

Most Americans and anglers from countries where carp fishing has not yet become an extremely intensively competitive sport may quite rightly wonder; what all this fuss about bait and its quality is really all about, and question its necessity!

Even a simple kitchen bait like a homemade corn flour dough, with added coke or canned sweet corn juice with catch all day and probably always will on most low or no pressure carp waters, around the world!

A high quality boiled bait approach is not necessary on every water; not every carp has ever seen a boilie bait before, and many carp may not even recognise them as food items immediately!

And many waters are so over stocked that there will never be enough natural food, nor anglers bait to supply their needs fully, and any bait from maggots to sweet corn, to bread will always catch their fare share of big fish, regardless of any nutritional needs among the fish population.

But on those hard fished pressured waters where big fish have seen practically every boilied bait of every description before and been caught on them previously, they certainly do learn by association, both of the dangers and benefits of eating particular baits.

The HNV theory baits have historically simply produced the biggest carp, the most consistently, where anglers are using varied baits of different qualities and designs from attractor baits to the most advanced highly digestible balanced HNV baits. (On high angling pressure waters.)

Even where carp are being offered a range of balanced nutritional value type shop bought baits every day, some baits will tend to catch more bigger carp than other baits, and this is where the advantages of designing and making your own homemade baits really pays long term dividends.

You see, no one else can go to a shop, buy the new bait youve so been carefully introducing into the water, (to get the fish to feed confidently on it) and then have someone else catch the lakes biggest fish as a result of all your efforts. The Americans were fooled into believing that Iraq actually housed such deadly weapons and was connected -- howsoever remotely -- to the WTC bombing. As it turned out to be, Iraq had nothing to do with the WTC attack, neither were any WMDs found in the country. So, what was the war about? Was it about the US on WTC-vendetta?

And then came the trial of the dictator. Saddam Hussein was tried not by any independent court of law, but by a puppet body that played in the hands of the US. Judges were changed at will, defense lawyers were slain and the entire proceeding was seen as a mockery of law and justice. At the end of the day, Saddam was handed down a much expected death sentence.

Countries have reacted to the verdict with caution. However, none other than the close allies of the US has expressed satisfaction at the way the trial was conducted.

The trial lacked the faith of the people. Ends of justice were surely not served. The whole exercise was illegal right from the beginning because the US had no right to conduct such a trial. Only and impartial international law court, like International Criminal Court (ICC), could have legally tried Saddam on the charges pressed against him. So, the trial was invalid and if Saddam is executed, it would be gross miscarriage of justice because every accused has an inviolable right to a fair trial. And since the trial was illegal, the execution would be plain murder.

The US must wake up before it is too late.
